The short version
What you enter in the app is stored on our own servers in the United States. We do not sell your data, we show no ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. There is no third-party analytics in this app.
What we store
Your name, profile photo, your description of yourself, and your ZIP code. For caregivers: rate, experience, languages, skills, availability and any certificates you attach. For families: care requests and, after you hire someone, the address you choose to share. Messages and photos you send in a conversation. Reviews and ratings you write. A record of responses, hires and completed jobs. Your Apple identifier and the email Apple gives us when you sign in — which may be Apple's private relay address.
We do not ask for a bank account, a card number or a social security number, and there is nowhere in the app to enter one.
Information about the person receiving care
A care request usually describes someone who is not using the app — an elderly parent, a child. That description can include health information, and it belongs to that person, not to us. Write only what a caregiver truly needs to know in order to say yes or no to the job, and make sure you have the right to share it.
We treat that text as the most sensitive thing in our database. It is stored encrypted, it never appears in push notifications, and it is shown only to caregivers who can respond to that request. A push notification about a new job carries the type of care and the area — never the description.
Your address is protected
Before you hire someone, caregivers see only your ZIP code — never the street address. Distances are approximate and calculated between ZIP code centres. The exact address is stored encrypted, is shared only with the caregiver you hire, and you can take that access away afterwards.
Photos and files
Photos and certificates are stored in our file storage. Links to them are temporary and expire about an hour after they are issued, so a copied link does not stay open forever. Certificates and reference letters are stricter still: they are shown only to you and to the people who run the service, and never through a shareable link.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store the device token needed to deliver them. Notifications never contain the text of your messages: the app loads the content itself after you open it. Delivery goes through Apple's push service, which is how every iPhone app works.
Who else sees this
The other person in a deal sees what you publish for them — your profile, your messages, your reviews. Apple handles sign-in, push notification delivery and all payments; we never receive your card details. RevenueCat, our subscription manager, receives your account identifier in our system and the details of the purchase — no name, no address, no messages. We do not pass your data to anyone else.
No tracking and no ads
The app does not request the advertising identifier, contains no advertising and no third-party analytics, and does not follow you across other apps or websites. We keep our own usage statistics on our own servers to understand how the app is used — for example, how many people responded to a job this week.
Where your data is kept, and for how long
Our servers are in the United States. Your data stays while your account exists. We make encrypted backups and keep them for about a week, so a copy of recently deleted data can survive in a backup for a few days before it ages out.
What stays on your phone
Your session keys are kept in the iOS keychain. Your chosen role and, for guests, the ZIP code you searched are kept in app settings on the device. If Apple gives us your name when you first sign in, it waits in app settings until your profile is created, and is erased from there once it has been saved. Nothing else is stored locally.
Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted. Addresses, care descriptions and message text are additionally encrypted in the database. Access to the servers is limited to the people who run the service. No system is perfectly safe, and we do not claim otherwise.
Children
The app is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. A family may describe a child who needs care in a request; write only what a caregiver truly needs to know.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account in the app: Profile › Settings › Delete account. Your profile, requests, responses and messages become inaccessible to other people, and personal data is removed. Some records of completed deals are kept without your personal data, because they belong to the other party too. If you signed in with Apple, we also tell Apple to disconnect the app from your Apple Account. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription — cancel that with Apple.
One thing is kept after deletion, and only for caregivers who used free responses or were hired: a one-way fingerprint of your sign-in ID together with the number of free responses you used. The fingerprint cannot be turned back into your Apple ID or any other detail about you. It exists only so that deleting an account and signing in again does not reset the free responses.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a future version of the app starts doing something new with your data, this page is updated before that version is released.
